About Training
This course will be presented first with the basics of oil field geomechanics, and the second part on its application to unconventional developments.
The first portion of the course will focus on the fundamentals of oil field geomechanics including stress, mechanical properties and failure. Common geomechanics applications (both near-wellbore and reservoir geomechanics) will be introduced. The course will tackle the key issues in the specification and QC of a geomechanics evaluation or testing program. The second part of the course will focus on hydraulic fracturing for Unconventional Resources with an emphasis on the characterization, geomechanics, modeling and field aspects of unconventionals hydraulic fracturing (hydraulic fracturing in heterogeneous rock masses with the presence of discontinuities and weakness planes).
Training Objectives
This course will provide a full understanding of the necessary information of geomechanics the common issues associated with common petroleum application, especially hydraulic fracture stimulations in Unconventional Plays.
Benefits of the Course :
- NHANCE RESERVOIR EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT THROUGH GEOMECHANICS
- Learn the basics of reservoir geomechanics and its application to unconventional exploration and developments, specifically for both near-wellbore and for reservoir geomechanics
- MANAGE THE ISSUES IN GEOMECHANICS APPLICATION
- Fully understand the reservoir geomechanics and be familiar with the isDay 1: GEOMECHANICS FOR PETROLEUM APPLICATIONS sues for common petroleum applications, key issues in the specification, and QC of a geomechanics evaluation or testing program
- TACKLE GEOMECHANICAL CONSIDERATIONS IN PETROLEUM APPLICATION
- Be familiar with the geomechanical issues for common petroleum applications, especially hydraulic fracture stimulations in unconventional plays
Audiences
This program is developed and designed primarily for geoscientists, and as well as the reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and completions engineers with little or no background in geomechanics and are currently working Unconventional Resources.
