About Training
PHA 140 Process Hazards Analysis using the HAZOP Technique
PHA140 Process Hazards Analysis using the HAZOP technique is a two day classroom-style course providing an introduction to the HAZOP technique as typically applied in the chemical industries.
The objective is to prepare attendees to participate effectively in a HAZOP workshop as team members. The course also provides a basis for further study towards becoming a HAZOP leader.
The course explains the purpose and applications of HAZOP; the preparation required; the methodology and procedure applied during the workshop; and the closeout required to yield maximum value from the study.
PHA 340 Certified HAZOP Leader
PHA 340 is a three day class room and workshop style course providing training and skills for leadership of HAZOP study workshops in the chemical industries. The objective is to prepare attendees to function effectively as a HAZOP workshop facilitator.
The course also provides a basis for further study towards becoming a leader of other PHA studies such as HAZID, SIL determination and LOPA.
The course provides comprehensive coverage of HAZOP preparation, technical and practical aspects of running the workshop, and techniques for optimizing the effectiveness of HAZOP. The course and assessment will be conducted by a qualified professional with extensive experience of both HAZOP chairing and training.
Training Objectives
During the course, participants will be observed during a substantial practical case study. They will also complete a written test. Attendees who meet a defined standard in terms of course attendance, written assessment, and practical HAZOP leader skills exhibited during the case study, will be awarded a certificate of attainment issued by xSeriCon. Attendees who do not fully meet the competency standard, but meet a minimum attendance and participation requirement, will be awarded a certificate of course completion.
