About Training
After attending the course, attendees should have a good understanding of different cased hole logging technologies including advanced ones with capability of reading the logs and perform proper quality control and interpretation. They should be also able to perform advanced log interpretation for horizontal wells and three phase flow. Also, they should be able to compare open hole petrophysical interpretation to cased hole monitoring to decide on the best techniques for water shut off and production enhancement.
The course is very interactive. Starting from Day #2, a summary of the material covered in the previous day will be presented by the attendees. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own examples of logs to discuss during the course, a session will be dedicated to that at the end of the course.
The practical sessions will cover most of the topics and will be answered by individuals using graph solutions and Excel analytical solutions. True examples from the field (released of course) will be discussed. The course includes an entry exam to assess the attendees level and a final exam to assess the attendees understanding of the course material
Training Objectives
- The main objective of this course is to deliver a thorough overview of the different cased hole logging services with stress over log quality control (LQC) and interpretation.
- The course covers the following topics:
- Production Logging services using basic technology (Spinner / Gradio-manometer / Manometer / Thermometer / Cali /GR / CCL) and advanced technology for horizontal wells and three phase flow
- Cased hole saturation monitoring using different technologies (Sigma / COR / Cased Hole Resistivity)
- Cement evaluation using different technologies (CBL / VDL / USIT / Isolation Scanner)
- The program is interactive with two exams (pre course and after course). Different exercises are given during the course to ensure proper understanding of the material.
- A section of open hole interpretation is added to this course to cover lithology / porosity / water saturation and permeability estimation
