Barry has over 15 years' experience handling commercial and shipping disputes, in particular relating to charterparties, bills of lading, commodities contracts, letters of credit, ship sale/purchase contracts, offshore agreements, shipyard claims and insurance disputes.
He was Partner in a major shipping and international trade group in Singapore , where he has been based since 2006. Prior to Singapore, he has worked in the London office (1996-1999), Hong Kong/Shanghai offices (1999-2003) and Australian offices (2004-2006). He is qualified in England, Hong Kong and Australia.
He is recognised by Chambers Asia as one of the leading shipping and arbitration lawyers in Singapore on the basis of "glowing praise" from clients who describe him as “more than just a good lawyer – he is also a very good commercial consultant. When analysing a case, he is able to provide his views on the commercial implications as well."
