Turgay Ertekin

Biography

Dr. Turgay Ertekin is a Professor and the Chair of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Ertekin has extensive experience with the development and application of fluid flow models in porous media. He is deeply involved in the mathematical modeling of flow problems using various techniques for over 35 years. Dr. Ertekin has taught numerous courses in fluid flow dynamics in porous media at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has also given numerous lectures, technical papers, seminars, and short industry courses throughout the world. Dr. Ertekin has authored or co-authored more than 200 publications including four books and four book chapters. Dr. Ertekin has served on the Society of Petroleum Engineers Editorial Board holding various positions including a two-year term as the Executive Editor of the Formation Evaluation Journal and currently is an editor-in-chief of the Journal of Petroleum Exploration and Technology. Dr. Ertekin is specialized in reservoir simulation and all other aspects of reservoir engineering
